Louise Glück, poet and winner of the 2020 Nobel Prize in Literature, has died at the age of 80. Known for her distinctive voice and universalizing individual existence, Glück’s poetry was praised for its austere beauty. Her collection “The Wild Iris” also won the Pulitzer Prize in 1992. Despite appearing simple, Glück’s poetry was highly sophisticated and explored everyday life and themes such as aging. Brazil has been fortunate to have translations of Glück’s refined and beautiful poetry published.
